This was my first time for traveling in European country and also for Christmas market. I have been heard about how magnificent they are. And I dreamt that one day I will see it in my own eyes. I have planed to travel in some country in Europe but I gave up. Until one day my cousin she asked me “ Do you still want to visit Europe?”. I was surprise hearing that she also planed to go and she already got visa and ticket. So, I decided to join her trip and my cousin had already planed everything. Basically, I just need visa, ticket, jump on the plane and meet her there.
Her itinerary was visit Berlin, Prague, Austria and Budapest. She flied from Bangkok and I flied from Melbourne but we will meet each other at Tegel airport in Berlin.
First night of staying in Berlin, we were heading right away to Christmas market near by our hotel. The moment that I had reached there, I was stunned because it’s beyond my expectation. Everything was much lively and splendid even it was frozen. Huge christmas trees, christmas songs, decoration lights, everything made me think I might be in a dream.
Christmas Markets in all around Europe will start to open in late November and early December. The market provide good opportunity to enjoy the festival, as well as drinks delicious mulled wine.
The night was so cold, probably 1 degree celsius. I and my cousin were trying to find hot drink to warm up our body until we saw a drink shop that selling hot beverages. We found that this shop sell wine. In fact, it is not normal wine but it is mulled wine. My cousin told me she has heard about mulled wine since she has planed the trip and she said alcohol drink will make our body warmer. It kind of sweet hot wine for me.
We have traveled in Berlin 4 days and after that we drove to Prague. I expected to visit the Christmas market in Prague as well.
The Christmas market in Prague where was close to our hotel that located at Old Town Square. I enjoy to walked around the market. I love this kind of festive atmosphere. A ton of traditional food shop, souvenirs and also mulled wine. We have stayed in Prague 3 days and moved to Austria.
In Vienna, at night the weather was bitter cold and drizzle but not big problem for us. I have been heard that the Christmas market in Vienna is bigger, gorgeous than other city and we can not miss it.
The time that we had reached the Christmas market, the snow have started falling but not heavy. It made me think I was dreaming.
Everything was just perfect. It was literally very gorgeous. I was happy to join my cousin’s trip. This market is very hug and a little bit different from other christmas market that I have been. Local foods, mulled wine, souvenirs were very great. There was an outdoor ice skate which a lot of children love it. This is such a precious memory for me.
The Christmas Market in 3 different countries that I have been this time, it has already fulfilled my dream, not just exploring European country but also visiting Christmas market. I love Christmas vibe even that moment was before the Christmas celebration. I think on the Christmas day will be more amazing. It was unforgettable moment of my life and I will be back there for more exploration.
